Discussed Outreaches:

Arrangements have been made to give the FROG award to Todd Schweim at NARAM.

April meeting minutes read.  MOTION to accept the minutes as read, by Bill Boublitz, Alan Williams; Motion passed, none opposed.  

Old Business:

ECRM-  Discussed preparations for ECRM.  Confirmed contents of contest box and items still needed to purchase.  Open up registration form to public.

John McCoy Collection-  Discussion of how to distribute John McCoy’s kit collection that is currently in storage at Jim Baird’s house.  Jennifer Ash and other suggested a few options:  donate some kits to the Canon auction, provide prizes to ECRM and Night launch, raffle the kits out, give out kits to members and host a John McCoy kit launch.

MOTION, Jim Baird, Sarah Jackson, to allow Jim Filler to select multiple kits that would be appropriate for the Canon Auction to give to Jennifer  Ash who will transport and donate them to at NARAM.  Motion passed, none opposed.

MOTION, Sarah Jackson, Jim Baird, to allow Jim Filler to select up to 20 kits to give out as prizes at ECRM.  Motion passed, none opposed.

Rocket Run-  Ole Ed Pearson’s Rocket Run will be moved to the July 2021 launch.  The event will start at 12:30 and run for a half hour to allow time for participants to find rockets.  12 mosquitos launched in quick succession, then let kids go find them.  They get to keep the mosquito they retrieve, plus get a free NASA swag bag prepared by Alex Mankevich.

Rocket Donation-  Alan Williams talked to a Swiss National who might show up at ECRM to sell or donate rockets.

MOTION, by Sarah Jackson, Alan Williams, to accept treasurer’s report as stated.  None opposed, motion passed.

New Business:

Parkville Cub Scouts-  Cub scouts contacted Alex Mankevich to discuss possibly having a club member at a build session and Mt. Airy launch, possibly August.  Bryan Barbalace volunteered to help if needed.

Goddard Visitor Center- The visitor center will be opening for visitors, but not for events or group activities.  Sunday launches are still postponed indefinitely.  The Apollo contest in July is cancelled.  Waivers are still good until 2022, in case we do start launching.

Maryland National Park and Planning Commission-  The folks who run the College Park Airport now have Alex Mankevich as their official contact.

College Park Airport meetings-  The Hap Arnold Center is now open for use by the public.  Alan Williams will need to officially request the use of the meeting space for the July 3 meeting.

Meeting Protocols- Ole Ed Pearson reminded us of the protocols of following the proper procedures during meetings to ensure that every topic is discussed and closed as needed.  The virtual meeting format gives issues due to latency of internet.
