Kevin Johnson nominated Maria Ha for Treasurer, and she accepted. ABC Triathlon is scheduled for Aug 17, but Chris Kidwell is not available on that date. It will be moved to Sep 14 to coincide with the September sport/night launch. Roger Allen reported that we have been approved to attend the Maker Fair on September 29 in Silver Spring. Plan to have a static display and flyers. Kids will make puff rockets. Having/ a few people building models will be good as well. Tom Ha and Alex Mankvich have come up with a new trifold flyer to distribute. Alan Williams submitted a report via Kevin Johnson on possibilities of viewing a launch at Wallops. There are no good viewing locations close by and no hotels. Launches are frequently scrubbed, so there is no guarantee of even seeing a launch. The only suggestion is to go the vistor center during the day, and stay there until the evening launch. Mark Petrovich received the NAR President's Award for his long years of service, particularly in providing models for FAI competition. Treasurer's Report In July, the club brought in $860.33 and spent $174.02. Income consisted of $15 in dues, $30 in Zog Subscriptions, $15 refund from ECRM-40 stickers, $800 donation from the Maryland Space Business Roundtable to support the Apollo Contest, and $0.33 in savings interest for May and June. Expenses consisted of $73.00 to Shamrock for Apollo contest trophies, and $101.02 in Apollo Contest expenses. New Business Capitol Cup has been moved back to September 21, which now conflicts with our sport and night launch. Jim Filler will contact Frederick Parks to see if we can move to Sep 14, keeping Sep 28 as a rain date. Motion to move the launch date to Sep 14 if the park is available (John McCoy/Frank Panek) passed. Reminder that go/no-go decisions for launches should be communicated on the web site and mailing list, with the decision made by noon on Friday. Business checking is changing a M&T bank, requiring a $1500 minimum. Jennifer and Maria will check into other banks to see if there are other options. 3rd annual science and engineering fair is coming April 26-27 at the DC convention center.
