NARHAMS Business Meeting 1/8/2011 Prior to the meeting, there was an open building session. Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm by Jim Filler Members attending: Jennifer Ash-Poole, Jim Filler, Jef Fineran, Kevin Johnson, Chris Kidwell, Roy Lapallainen, Alex Mankevich, John McCoy, Jim Miers, Ed Pearson, Raul Pena, Mark Wise Outreach none Minutes from the November meeting were read. Motion to accept (Roy Lapallainen/Alex Mankevich) passed. Old Business Ed Pearson would like to hold an unofficial S8 contest at Capitol College on March 26. Tom Bagg (via Jennifer) suggested having a small fun event like spot landing for the college kids. Suggestion is to have spot landing 10 am - 1 pm, then a demonstration of S8 but not an actual contest. The 2011 calendar includes a night launch in October instead of September as usual. But the park closes at dusk starting in October, rather than 10 pm closing in the summer. Previously we have tried having a night launch in March, but were denied due to the closing schedule. Jim Filler will contact the park to see if we can do the night launch in October. If not, the alternative is to move the September launch to Sep 24. Motion to table further discussion until Jim hears back (Alex Mankevich/Kevin Johnson) passed. John McCoy calculated projected costs for monthly 12-page B/W vs bimonthly 16-page (12 B/W, 4 color) each run about $20. Motion to increase cost of ZOG-43 subscription to $17 (email or pickup) and $23 (mailed) and require club vote annually for all free subscriptions (John McCoy/Ed Pearson). Since we started keeping separate records for ZOG-43 income/expense, we have about $400 surplus. Motion to amend cost structure to 10/15/20 email/pickup/mail (Chris Kidwell/ Roy Lapallainen).
