Members attending: Jennifer Ash-Poole, Robert Edmonds, Jeff Fineran, Jim Filler, Tom Ha,
Kevin Johnson, Chris Kidwell, John McCoy, Ed Pearson, Alan Williams

Minutes from September meeting were read. Motion to accept (John McCoy/Alan Williams) passed.

Old Business

Mark Wise has a possible lead for launch site at a dairy farm associated with the Naval
Academy. One of the sod farm owners is still a possibility, but may need some additional
discussions. Jeff Fineran has also made some progress with the PGCC field, but still
hasn't gotten to talk to the real person in charge. Jim Filler suggested moving our
summer launch schedule to 2-8pm to avoid conflicts with soccer games.

Night launch was a smashing success. Need to advertise to bring warm clothing next year.

Planning meeting will be held at the November meeting. Ole Ed show 5-6 pm, with planning
meeting 6-9:30 pm.

Section survey is now online to gather data prior to the planning meeting. Link is on the
web site and is open until the end of October. Motion to allocate $40 to cover the cost of
the survey (Chris Kidwell/John McCoy) passed.

Continuing discussion from last month on the response to the College Park Air Fair 100.
From John McCoy's records, we started at the Air Fair in 1993 with a 30 minute window,
flying 20 models on each of 2 days. In 1994, we were given 20 minutes, and still flew 20
models on first day and 14 models on 2nd day. In 1995, we had 30 minutes, and flew 20 models
on first day and 17 models on 2nd day. In 1997, we had 20 minutes, and flew 10 models on
first day and 9 models on 2nd day. John doesn't have records of air fairs from 1998 - 2000.

Two separate letters were presented from Alan Williams (letter 1) and Chris Kidwell (letter 2).
Extended discussion followed. Motion to send letter 2 as presented, and allow Alan the option
to send letter 1 as a private individual, not as representing NARHAMS (Tom Ha/John McCoy) passed.

Motion to modify letter 2 to remove wording about launching at Goddard
(Alan Williams/Ed Pearson) failed (3 in favor, 4 against).

Mary McCoy suggested we do a dress rehearsal for a short time window (20 minute) launch.

members to fly. He would also like to schedule a local meet for next year: RDD, B Bertha PD,
C Bertha SD, Big Daddy/Fat Boy OSL. Prizes would be kits and gift certificates, but no contestant fee.
