NARHAMS Business Meetings - 8/1/2009 Prior to the meeting, Chris Kidwell gave a demo of computer applications for rocketry. John McCoy also gave a demo of CorelDraw for designs. Meeting called to order at 8:41 pm by Jim Filler. Members attending: Roger Allen, Jim Filler, Chris Ha, Tom Ha, Zach Ha, Chris Kidwell, Alex Mankevich, John McCoy, Ed Pearson, Raul Pena, Alan Williams, Mark Wise Outreach Goddard Contest was on July 19. Lots of people helped, and we had about 80 contestants and 400 visitors. About 50 cub scouts launched at Mt. Airy on July 18. Minutes from July meeting were read. Motion to accept (Tom Ha/Chris Ha) passed. Old Business Mark Wise is planning to send out letters to the second round of contacts for the field search. Roger Allen reported on a possible new field at Blob's Park near Columbia. There is still a long narrow field there that may be available for launching. Roger will follow up. John McCoy will be ordering glow sticks for the upcoming night launch. Motion to allocate $30 (Roger Allen/Alan Williams) passed. College Park Air Fair is scheduled for August 29. We will be attending with a static display. Still in need of launch manager for August and December. Treasurer's Report In July, we collected $156 and spent $484.34. Income consisted of $76 in donations, $30 dues, $30 ECRM proceeds, $20 raffle. Expenses were $105 storage fees, $43.05 ZOG-43, $14.80 air horn, $321.49 various Goddard Contest supplies and mailings Cash: $128.80 Bank: $2606.46 Total: $2735.26 Motion to accept (John McCoy/Tom Ha) passed. New Business NARAM-51 starts up next week, and overlaps with the monthly sport launch on August 15. Motion to cancel the August sport launch (Alan Williams/John McCoy) passed. Elections are coming up next month. Jim Filler may not be at that meeting, but he is willing to continue as club president. Night launch is September 19, so get building.
