The meeting was called to order at 7:34 pm by Jennifer Ash-Poole.
The minutes from the November, December, and special January meetings were read. Robert Edmonds moved that they be accepted as read. Mary McCoy seconded the motion which passed.
John McCoy moved to change Giant Sport Scale at ECRM-26 to Sport Scale. Robert Edmonds seconded the motion which passed.
Jim Filler gave an update on ECRM-26. We want to continue the tradition of having trophies for 1st places, and a picnic with chicken after the launch on Sunday. SPAAR and NOVAAR (as Indpendents) are planning to attend. There will be a $4 charge for the picnic, but the contestant fee is undetermined. Jim has two boxes of trophies left over from previous ECRMs. Getting new plates will cost about $133, compared to about $220 for new trophies. Alan Williams moved to allocate $133 for plates, with the provision that the amount be increased as needed. Jennifer Ash-Pooled seconded the motion. Alan then revised his motion to limit the cost to $220 maximum. Mary McCoy seconded the motion which passed.
John McCoy requested that Chris Kidwell write a formal letter requesting Jennifer Ash-Poole return the Ole Ed Dead Last but Finished trophy at ECRM.
Mary McCoy moved that we get a 50-piece bucket of chicken for the picnic, at a cost of $50. Robert Edmonds seconded the motion which passed.
HQSM-33 was to be held on June 12, but there is a conflict which prevents Chris Kidwell and his judge from attending. Jim Filler moved that the date be changed to June 26 and be held at the Hap Arnold building at College Park Airport. Robert Edmonds seconded the motion which passed.
The club needs to attend two more contest factors to get our maximum of 12 for the year. NOVAAR is hosting VACUUM-23 on April 24 as an Open Meet with the events 1/2A RG, A HD, B ELD, and OSL. Jennifer Ash-Poole moved that we enter as a club. Robert Edmonds seconded the motion which passed.
Alan Williams noted that the College Park Air Fair has been moved to September 25-26.
Jennifer Ash-Poole reported that the hat-making company is requesting a one-time setup fee of $125. Don Brown is checking into another sources for hats. Further discussion is tabled.
The Planning Meeting will be March 6 at the Hap Arnold building at College Park Airport, starting at 9 am. Food will be provided by Princess Bagles.
OPOSSUM-3 is March 13, with Jennifer Ash-Poole as Contest Director. Events are A BG, A HD, RDD, and 1/4A SD (MR). Jennifer moved that we have a contestant fee of $2. Ed Pearson made an amendment that the fee be waived for people flying for NARHAMS, or NARHAMS members forced to fly as independents. Mary McCoy seconded the motion which passed.
April 10 is a sport launch at Middletown, with a glider theme. It will be sponsored by Edmonds Aerospace.
In December, the club collected $235.95: $92 from dues and ZOG-43 subscriptions, $137
from the raffle, and $6.95 in bank account interest. We spent $162.18: $55 for the
section renewal, $99.26 in ROMAC expenses, and $7.92 for holiday party supplies.
