The meeting was called to order at 8:10 pm by Jim Filler.
The minutes from the August meeting were read. Robert Edmonds moved that they be accepted as read. Paul Milled seconded the motion.
The AIAA demo launch is scheduled for September 12. It will be part of their First Annual Aerospace Picnic, 11 am - 3 pm, and space camp with boy scout troop 456. Alan Holmes will assist with the launch.
The Prince George's County Fair is also September 12. Jim Miers will assist with the building session and launch there. Events will be 1/2A SD and OSL.
HQSM-32, aka MATTHEW-2, will be held on October 10, along with a picnic dinner and night launch. Events are C DED, RDD and DR. Jennifer Ash-Poole moved to spend $75 for chicken, eggs, and sodas. Chris Kidwell seconded the motion, which passed.
NARAM-40 was August 8-14. Full coverage is available in the ZOG-43. Awards highlights: Gerald Gregorak Award to Ellis Langford for A BG, President's Award to NAR Standards & Testing, Galloway Award to Chris Devaris for the NAR web page, Section of the Year to NARHAMS. NARHAMS was well represented at NARAM and got 14985 points, placing 2nd behind NOVAAR for the meet. For the year, we finished 4th with 45497 points.
NARAM-41 will be in Pittsburgh, August 7-13, 1999.

Alan Williams is the new Section Advisor. The other offices remain the same.
Alan Williams reported that Goddard Community Day is September 27. Help is needed for the demo launch at 3 pm. Please show up around noon to help setup and decide what to launch.
Paul Miller mentioned that this is his 10 year anniversary being in NARHAMS. He thanked the blub for bringing Andrew and himself closer together.
Paul Miller recently got his NAR renewal form, but it does not list the family rate. There was no explanation given for the omission. Jim Filler will check on it. (Note: It was later learned that the family rate is still in effect, just listed in small print at the bottom of the form.)
Paul Miller is in the process of cleaning out his basement. He will be bringing in various stuff to upcoming meetings to give away.
Jim Filler reported that Estes is planning to rerelease the Saturn V and a 40th anniversary Alpha IV.
