The meeting was called to order at 7:44 pm by Jim Filler.
The minutes from the March meeting were read. Corrections: The February minutes were read, not January's as reported. The Spring Fling at College Park Airport was cancelled due to lack of interest. Alan Holmes moved to accept the minutes as amended. John McCoy seconded the motion.
The planning meeting on March 7 went well. All of the officers attended, as well as Robert Edmonds.
Updating the Middletown landowner situation, the problem landowner is actually farther away from the park than we originially thought. The lands directly across the road should be OK to recover rockets from, but we will get confirmation anyway.
Jim Filler gave an update on plans for ECRM-25. There is still no word on the reservation for the picnic shelter. He will check on it next week. The new baseline was laid out for 1/4A Scale Altitude. We plan to fly C Cluster Altitude on Saturday and 1/4A Scale Altitude on Sunday morning. Trophies, buttons, and decals have all arrived. There was some screw-up in the printing of the decals, but Jerry Flynn got another batch printed and donated them to the club.
John McCoy unveiled the "Ole Ed Dead Last But Finished Roving Trophy". It is a time capsule design with places to engrave names on the back.
OPOSSUM-2 was cancelled due to wind, rain and snow. Jennifer Ash-Poole moved that we reschedule it for June 13. Alan Holmes seconded the motion, which passed.
We plan to send a letter and calendar of events to the landowners at Middletown to explain who we are and what we do. We will ask to secure limited permission to recover rockets that drift onto their property. Jennifer Ash-Poole is in charge of making the contacts, and Chris Kidwell will help with writing the letters.
Alan Williams informed us of several upcoming events: Rockville Consortium of Sciences is April 26 with a building session and launch; Prince George's County Science Trek is April 25 also with a building session and launch; Goddard Community Day is April 26 with a demo launch.
Chris Kidwell received a response from Ken Brown regarding the Helicopter building session planned for June. Mr. Brown will not be able to attend, but he is offering a 20% discount on his kits. Chris will be placing an order in early May.
Alan Holmes moved that the meeting be adjourned. Jennifer Ash-Poole seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 8:39 pm.
